Headstone inscriptions

Take a look at some typical inscriptions below, there is no set rules on what you can put on a headstone so please just take these as a handy guide.

We are on hand to help you set out your inscription and remember that nothing is decided until you have signed for your inscription.

Top tip: To help us to help you we would advise you to think of the ‘personal’ aspect of the inscription such as a verse at the bottom. Where we come in handy is the general layout of the inscription.

“No longer with me in my life to share,
But in my heart you will always be there,
Cherished memories kept forever of many
years spent together, All my love ….”

“Jesus called a little child
Until the day dawns
Thy will be done
Rest In Peace
Simply the best
Forever young
I know that my redeemer liveth
Too dearly loved to be forgotten
Remembered with a smile/
Great love lives on
So dearly loved, so greatly missed.”

“Gone is the face we love so dear
Silent is the voice we loved to hear”

“Father in Thy gracious keeping
Leave me now our loved ones sleeping”

“To live in the hearts of those we leave
is not to die”

“Loves last gift, remembrance
Forever in our thoughts.”

“Only goodnight beloved not farewell
Peace, Perfect Peace
Resting in the Lord
Resting where no shadows fall
Requiescat in Peace
Always Remembered
To those we hold so dear
Reunited
Grant him Thy eternal rest”

“Gone from our home,
But not from our hearts”

“His life is a beautiful memory
His absence silent grief”

“A light from our household gone,
a voice we loved is stilled
A place is vacant in our home
Which can never be filled”
